the-unpopular-opinions:

I strongly believe it should be illegal for teenagers, under the age 18 in Canada or 21 if you live in America, to have children. These people are not mature enough to care for a child, nevertheless financially care for a baby. On average it costs a bare minimal two hundred thousand dollars to raise a child. Teenagers then have to find a place to live, find a way to buy a vehicle, and on top of that, find a way to finish getting their own education. I think in the case that they do have a child, it should be taken away from them until they are old enough to be considered a legal adult. This is both beneficial to the baby and their parents, so that they can at the very least finish high school and have time to earn more money before they are reunited with their baby. Its a very selfish thing to have a baby before you can even manage your own life and money. To me its close to being child abuse for a baby to be placed in the care of someone so inadequate. I would also like to make it clear that removing the child from it’s parents would only be a temporary arrangement. The way I see it, if you’re too young to drink alcohol, you’re too young to make a life long decision that not only effects yourself but an innocent child.

* it’s worth mentioning the fact that almost every teen single mom will end up living in a poverty which I’ve learned in the sociology class.
It’s incredibly hard to juggle between having a job and being a mom. I think it’s much more important for the many teens to reconsider.
Don’t you want your children to live in an environment where you can provide more than just basic needs??
